These patterns and guides are for makers who already know how to sew. May freeze when choices stack up or stall halfway through projects and then feel shame about unfinished work. Who miss the feeling of being new at sewing and discovering all the possibilities.
My goal for Patchwerk patterns is to appeal to neurodivergent and queer makers. The sewing and quilting world aren’t inherently made for us. I write out the decision logic (so you don’t have to decide everything at once) with clear sequencing with built-in momentum. There is structure, not rules and demands. I feel it is important to use what we already have an minimize the amount of waste we contribute to the world.
What matters to me is process and never perfection. Personalization , not conformity. Dignity and community over hustle. An play. Patchwerk at it’s core, is fuck around and figuring it out. Things that aren’t always necessary but make life cuter, easier, or more interesting.
Hi, I’m Teresa.
I make fun, silly and smart quilting and sewing patterns for people who want to have fun making things again.
I’m the author of the Quilter’s Inspiration Deck, an award winning quilter, I’ve shown work at QuiltCon and Quilt Week Paducah, and I’m an Adjunt Professor of Fiber Art at the College of DuPage.
Patchwerk is because I want to make patterns for people that are like me and think like me.
These aren’t patterns that assume that you have endless focus, deep confidence before starting, perfect planning or even a linear progress.
They are patterns made because something sparked an idea I couldn’t shake. Because making stuff is supposed to be fun. Not just more work.
