Hi, I’m Teresa.

I make fun, silly and smart quilting and sewing patterns for people who want to have fun making things again.

I’m the author of the Quilter’s Inspiration Deck, an award winning quilter, I’ve shown work at QuiltCon and Quilt Week Paducah, and I’m an Adjunct Professor of Fiber Art at the College of DuPage.

With Patchwerk I design and create guides for people that need direct information with room to adapt based on your tools, skills, and body.

My work is rooted in queer joy, punk DIY feminism, zine culture and the belief that you can make whatever, whenever, with whatever you want. Always.

These are patterns made because something sparked an idea I couldn’t shake. Because making stuff is supposed to be fun. Not just more work. These aren’t patterns that assume that you have endless focus, endless skill or confidence, perfect supplies or even a linear progress.

With Patchwerk I aim to create things for people that need direct information with room to adapt based on your tools, skills, and body.

  • Patchwerk is a mirco, queer-led sewing studio focused on play and experimentation.

    Launched Jan 15th, 2026.

We are about making things that are useful and genuinely fun to sew without unnecessary pressure to do it perfectly. Customization and personalization is always encouraged. No gatekeeping. No hierarchy.

These patterns and guides are for makers who already know how to sew. May freeze when choices stack up or stall halfway through projects and then feel shame about unfinished work. That might miss the feeling of being new at sewing and discovering all the possibilities.

The patterns are adaptable, skill-building, and designed to help you trust yourself as a maker, no matter your skill level.

At it’s Patchwerk at its core, is about play. Making things that aren’t always necessary but make life cuter, easier, or more interesting.
